Artwork Origin

Northern Parula warblers are known for their rising buzzy song, often heard in the trees along stream banks in spring. The reference photos for this artwork were taken at Brumley Forest North in Orange County, NC in March 2020. This bird was moving around a group of second growth trees just after sunrise. At one point it landed in the crook of a large thick woody vine and this became the structure for the artwork. Spent some time observing through binoculars and snapped a few photos to take home.

The bird featured in this artwork was moving around in smaller trees just to the left of where this photo was taken.
